Experience burnout or mental health challenges from constant exposure to crisis
"With a lack of culturally competent mental health resources available to first responders and their families, it's time to find a new approach to healing."
You've served others your entire career. It's time to serve yourself.
"This isn't just about feeling better for a few days. This is about fundamentally changing how trauma affects you—so you can show up fully for your family, your community, and yourself."
While first responders face unique challenges, their trauma doesn't exist in isolation—it ripples through their entire family system.
That's why we welcome families. Spouses, partners, and adult family members often absorb secondary trauma from their loved one's work. You may experience:
Healing together creates stronger families and deeper connection.
Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, nurses, emergency personnel, and healthcare workers curious about the healing potential of sacred plant medicine for occupational trauma.
Spouses, partners, and adult family members who have absorbed secondary trauma and want to heal alongside their loved one or independently.
You've tried traditional therapy, medications, or other treatments without finding lasting relief from PTSD, depression, anxiety, or burnout.
You're seeking deep healing within a community who understands your unique challenges. You're willing to commit to transformation beyond just a retreat experience.
The science is clear: psilocybin offers unique healing potential for first responders.

Jason and Kimberly know firsthand how unresolved trauma, stress, and burnout can permeate families.
As a retired firefighter paramedic with almost 18 years of service, Jason struggled silently for years with depression, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, and burnout. His method of coping was typically alcohol, isolation, and dissociation. Through his smile and jovial personality, he hid the scars well. Until one day it had become too much for their family.
Hit by Hurricane Ian in 2022, Jason & Kimberly lost their home and belongings under 30 inches of water. Trying to salvage the remains, Jason steadfastly worked to support the community. When he finally returned home, he did so with a bottle and no emotional capacity for his family.
It was at this point they knew a drastic change needed to take place.
Through their journey with plant medicine—particularly psilocybin—Jason found healing for his physical, mental, and spiritual body. Now, they've created Ananda Lodge as a sanctuary for other first responders and families walking this same path.
Co-Founder & Retired Firefighter Paramedic
Jason is the co-founder of Ananda Lodge and a retired Firefighter Paramedic. In his almost 18-year career, Jason intimately understands how unresolved trauma can accumulate in the body and impact those around him.
In his exploration for healing, Jason discovered the benefits of psilocybin in both large and small doses. Psilocybin has been an ally for restoring health in his physical, mental, and spiritual body. Jason embodies calm strength in ceremony, balancing the sacred feminine with the divine masculine.
Co-Founder & Trauma-Informed Facilitator
Kimberly is the co-founder of Ananda Lodge and a certified somatic trauma-informed medicine facilitator and integration guide. As an empathic medicine woman, Kimberly brings over 10 years of personal coaching and working with plant medicine.
Experiencing corporate burnout herself, she turned to ancient healing traditions and plant medicine for soul reconnection and transformation. She continues to walk the path of humble service, providing one-to-one coaching and guidance. She is also a certified sound healing therapist and herbalist in training.
"I recently attended a psilocybin retreat at Ananda and had an excellent experience. The schedule was thoughtfully organized, gradually introducing the process in a way that felt safe and reassuring. It was evident that the staff and leadership put significant effort into doing everything the right way."
"Words cannot express how incredible and unique this place is. The support during and after ceremony is unmatched in the retreat industry. If you want to feel safe and supported you will not find it anywhere else like Ananda."
"If you are considering a retreat to explore your spirit, heal from past traumas or just reset your life… Ananda Lodge is the place to start."
"The trauma-informed approach at Ananda made me feel safe to truly open up and heal. This place is special. These people are special."
Psilocybin is a naturally occurring compound found in certain mushrooms, historically used in spiritual and healing ceremonies. For first responders, research shows it can calm the brain's fear center (amygdala), support emotional processing of stuck trauma, and help form new, healthier neural pathways. It allows deep emotional release and inner clarity, gently uncovering the imprints that block our natural resilience and wholeness.
Absolutely. This retreat is specifically designed for first responders and families, many of whom are new to plant medicine. We provide extensive preparation (3 sessions before arrival), trauma-informed facilitation by experienced guides who understand first responder culture, and comprehensive integration support. Our maximum group size of 10 ensures personalized attention throughout your journey.
Yes! We welcome spouses, partners, and adult family members of first responders. Family members often absorb secondary trauma and benefit significantly from this healing work. Many couples attend together and find it deepens their connection and mutual understanding.
Safety is our absolute priority. We maintain a small group size (max 10), provide comprehensive medical screening, offer trauma-informed facilitation by guides who understand first responder trauma, include extensive preparation and integration support, and create a judgment-free container where you can be fully yourself. Jason, our co-founder, is a retired firefighter paramedic who has walked this path.
Microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual doses of psilocybin regularly (typically 2-3 times per week). Research and anecdotal evidence show it can help with depression, anxiety, focus, emotional regulation, and overall nervous system health. During the retreat, you'll receive a comprehensive microdosing workshop to support your continued healing after you return home.
