Deepening, Direct Guidance & Ayahuasca

You’ve sat with the medicine before. You understand its power, its wisdom, its call. But in a world where ayahuasca experiences can vary greatly, finding a container that allows you to truly deepen your relationship with the plant, beyond the initial insights, requires intentional design and masterful guidance.

At Ananda Lodge, we believe experienced medicine sitters deserve more than repeated introductory experiences. You’ve done the foundational work. Now it’s time for the medicine to meet you where you are, with the depth and precision that comes from direct guidance with our Shipibo Maestras and trauma-informed somatic support.

With a 2:1 ratio of healers and facilitators to guests, we ensure that each person receives individualized attention from our Shipibo maestra. Limiting our immersion to only 10 participants allows for authentic lineage work where our master healers can spend quality time understanding your unique healing journey and supporting your deepest work.

Each member of the Ananda Lodge CARE team is trained in somatic, trauma-informed plant medicine facilitation, ensuring your ability to go deeper with the medicine while feeling completely held. Our philosophy centers on empowering experienced sitters with the container, guidance, and support to access new depths of healing intelligence.

Deepening your Relationship with the Medicine

At Ananda our sanctuary is purposefully designed for experienced medicine sitters ready to go beyond surface level healing and access the profound depths that authentic lineage work offers.

You’ve likely experienced ayahuasca in various settings, but have you worked directly with a Shipibo Maestra who can channel specific icaros for your healing? Have you sat in a container where the medicine can meet your existing wisdom and take you deeper than you’ve gone before? This immersion is designed specifically for those ready to build upon their foundation.

Choosing to deepen your work is an important step that shouldn’t be overlooked. At Ananda Lodge we work with respected and powerful healers (Onanyas) from the Shipibo tribe in the Peruvian Amazon.

As ayahuasca becomes more available worldwide, the depth and authenticity of experiences can vary greatly. At Ananda Lodge we bridge the gap between tourist experiences and authentic healing, where sacred medicine practices are honored, indigenous healers are supported and experienced sitters receive the depth of work they’re seeking.

What You'll Gain

This Retreat Is For You If:

The Medicine

Ayahuasca

Oni, in Shipibo, is the name for the Ayahuasca brew. At Ananda Lodge we operate with the highest level of integrity when serving medicine. Ayahuasca medicine that is brewed for our retreats is done with sacred reverence and prayer to provide deep healing for those who consume it.

Following many years of intense diets in the jungle, Shipibo healers are known to be some of the most highly skilled energetic surgeons. Through the singing of their icaros, or sacred healing songs, the curendera(o) channels their connection with the medicine and plant and animal spirits to heal traumatic imprints and energetic blockages. Through their singing, they guide the medicine to extract wellness obstacles, repair the spirit, and harmonize the energy body.

While ayahuasca by itself can be considered deeply healing, it is the skill and level of mastery of the curandera(o) that profoundly impacts the depth of healing.

Shipibo

The Shipibo-Conibo are indigenous people who originate from the Peruvian Amazon. Formerly two groups, Shipibo and Conibo, they eventually merged to become one tribe known as some of the most powerful healers in the world. They are the third-largest indigenous group in the Peruvian Amazon, comprising 36,000 people across more than 150 communities.

The Shipibo Tribe is deeply rooted in their spiritual beliefs of healing with plants and their reverence for plant and animal spirits.  and gain their healing powers and wisdom directly from the plants. Evident through their icaros, or healing songs, and traditional textiles, or kenes, the Shipibo believe in the concept of an all-encompassing reality of oneness. The kene plays a crucial role in bringing these concepts into tangible, physical form often evident in the visuals experienced by the pasajeros.

Through their work with energy, they can cure a wide range of ailments, from physical to psycho-spiritual. The Shipibo follow a very specific progression of healing work with pasajeros that ensures the utmost safety, protection, and deepest access to removing trauma burdens and emotional imprints.

Compassion

We view compassion as the foundation of healing and transformation. Leading with compassionate and therapeutic presence, our staff creates a safe space for rediscovering compassion within.

Attunement

We believe trauma-imprints are part of the human experience and universal. Through attuned presence we offer the ability to be seen, witnessed, and acknowledged in a safe setting.

Reverence

With reverence we offer our gratitude to the plants, earth wisdom, lineage carriers, and our ancestors. We honor the wisdom around us and within us that helps us to to return to remembering and connection.

Embodiment

We believe somatic embodiment of the teachings and lessons creates a pathway for lasting integration and spiritual healing. When we walk the path with wisdom we are able to heal for the generations before, and those after us.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a sacred medicine retreat?

A sacred medicine retreat is an immersive experience that incorporates the ceremonial use of sacred plants or substances for healing, spiritual exploration, and personal growth.

Is the retreat suitable for beginners?

This retreat was created specifically for beginners. However, it’s essential to consider your own readiness and intentions for participating in a sacred medicine retreat.

What safety measures are in place during ceremonies?

Safety is a top priority during ceremonies, and experienced facilitators take precautions to ensure the well-being of all participants. This includes screening participants for medical conditions or contraindications, providing pre- and post-ceremony support, maintaining a safe and sacred space and having trained staff on hand to assist.

Are there any contraindications or precautions I should be aware of?

Certain medical conditions, medications, or mental health conditions may be contraindicated with the use of sacred medicines. It’s essential to disclose all relevant medical history or medications to the retreat facilitators before participating.

What should I expect during a ceremony?

Ceremonies involve ingesting the sacred medicine in a ritualistic setting under the guidance of experienced facilitators. Participants may experience a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual effects, including heightened sensory perception, introspection, emotional release, and spiritual insights.

How do you determine the correct dosage?

Determining the correct mushroom dosage for a sacred ceremony is a nuanced process that requires careful consideration of various factors. We take an individualized approach, considering factors such as body weight, tolerance, previous experiences with psychedelics, and personal intentions for the ceremony. Our experienced facilitators have undergone extensive training and have years of experience working with sacred medicines.

Why cacao and mushrooms together?

We embrace the synergy of sacred plants and substances to create transformative and integrative experiences for our participants. Cacao has been used for centuries in ceremonial contexts for its heart-opening and mood-enhancing properties. When combined with sacred mushrooms, cacao can enhance and complement the psycho-spiritual effects of the mushrooms, creating a synergistic and expansive experience. The heart-opening properties of cacao can help to soften the edges of the mushroom experience, fostering a sense of safety, love, and trust that allows participants to surrender more deeply into the journey.

I see one ceremony in the evening and one in the morning, why is this?

By offering ceremonies at different times of the day, we provide participants with the opportunity to experience the medicine in varying contexts and energetic frequencies. Evening ceremonies provide an opportunity for deep processing and integration as you sleep during the night. Morning ceremonies provide an opportunity to take advantage of optimal, natural brainwave patterns and chemicals, while offering conscious integration of the journey. The spacing of evening and morning ceremonies also allows participants time for rest and reflection between experiences.

Am I a newcomer to the medicine. Do you offer coaching support to prepare?

Yes. Our Ananda Lodge CARE team is here to support you with 1:1 preparation and integration sessions before and after your onsite experience. Contact us to learn more.
