When your mind races but your heart feels distant

In a world that demands constant attention, focus, and productivity, many of us have lost connection to the wisdom that lives in our bodies.

You may be called here if

Your life works.
Something feels off.

From the outside, everything is in place. And still, something quiet is off. A distance from yourself. A question you keep setting aside.

  • Disconnected from yourself despite a full life
  • Mental noise that won't quiet
  • Burned out but unable to stop
  • A body you've stopped listening to
  • Clarity that feels just out of reach
  • Stuck in patterns that thinking can't shift
  • A question you keep setting aside
  • Wanting to feel something real again

San Pedro doesn't push you through. It slows you down enough to hear yourself again. This is a medicine for people whose lives look intact but whose inner compass has gone quiet.

Ancient wisdom, modern science

What is San Pedro, Huachuma?

A sacred cactus medicine revered for over 3,000 years in the high Andes of Peru, now supported by modern research.

  • Known as the grandfather medicine; the Quechua name "Huachuma" translates to "removing the head", the dissolution of the ego and the mind's constant chatter
  • Taken during the day, ceremonies last 8–12 hours, inviting you to slow down, be present, and take in the beauty around and within you
  • Empathogenic and heart-opening, promoting unity with self, others, nature, and the greater spiritual universe
  • Research suggests 68–86% report improvement in depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use, with 35–50% rating it among the most spiritually significant experiences of their lives
  • Supports nervous-system regulation and anxiety relief through serotonin and dopamine receptor activity

What makes this experience unlike anywhere else

Not all San Pedro retreats are created equal.

01

Trauma-Informed Somatic Container

Profound transformation happens through the body, not just the mind. Our facilitators are trained in somatic, trauma-informed practices, creating safety for your nervous system to regulate, release, and integrate.

02

Continuity of CARE

Most retreats end when you leave. From two pre-retreat preparation sessions through 12 weeks of post-retreat support, the same CARE team member walks alongside you, building trust and lasting transformation.

03

Intimate Sacred Container

While many retreats pack 15–30 people into ceremonies, we intentionally limit our immersions to just 8 guests, deep personal attention, authentic connection, and space for your process to unfold.

04

A Medicine Carrier Who Lives the Path

Chase isn't a weekend facilitator. He has worked exclusively with San Pedro for over 10 years, completing extensive traditional diets, trained in the indigenous lineage by master teacher Bernhard Karshagen.

Your 8-day immersion

Three ceremonies, spaced for integration.

Time for your nervous system to settle. Deep support before, during, and after.

Day 1

Arrival

Airport pickup, a warm welcome, and dinner together as the container opens.

Days 2, 4, 6

Ceremony

Each ceremony opens in the morning with somatic grounding, not at sunrise. Once the medicine is received, it is held in sacred silence, with Chase working 1:1 with each guest throughout. Ceremony closes around sunset, followed by a nourishing meal.

Days 3, 5, 7

Integration

Rest and personal integration at your own pace, group and 1:1 sessions, beach excursion to Playa Grande, gentle movement and yoga, and art therapy for expression beyond words.

Day 8

Departure

A closing circle and final reflections before departure at 11 AM.

Who is ready for this work

Held at a depth that requires readiness.

The Sacred Journey consultation exists to protect that depth for everyone in the circle.

This immersion is for you if…

  • You feel a quiet disconnection from yourself despite a life that looks intact from the outside
  • You are ready to do real inner work, not simply have a meaningful experience
  • You want to feel your way forward, not only think your way there
  • You are committed to the full arc, including preparation before arrival and integration after departure
  • You are neurologically stable and not in active psychological crisis
  • You are drawn to the heart-opening, empathogenic nature of San Pedro specifically
  • You value an intimate container where you will be genuinely known

This immersion is not for you if…

  • You want the ceremonial experience only and will not engage preparation or integration
  • You are in active psychiatric instability or acute trauma crisis
  • You are on medications with contraindications to mescaline-containing plants
  • You are primarily curious about plant medicine without a specific intention or readiness
  • You are looking for a large-group retreat environment with more anonymity
  • You are comparing programs primarily on price rather than fit
Comprehensive support

Before, during & after.

Your journey begins long before you arrive and continues for months after you leave.

Before

Thorough Preparation

A thorough intake process including medication review and safety screening, two somatic preparation sessions to build resources and set intention, and a virtual group orientation to meet your medicine family before arrival.

During

Attuned Navigation

Two onsite navigation sessions with trauma-informed facilitators, daily somatic practices to support nervous-system regulation, and group integration circles and art therapy for processing.

After

Continued Integration

Three 1:1 integration sessions with somatic specialists, 12 weeks of integration guidebooks delivered bi-weekly, and medicine community forums plus a group integration call.

"My Huachuma experience with Ananda was one of the most profound healing experiences I have ever had. This is because I truly felt safe. They have created such a welcoming, trauma-informed container and it's clear they hold lots of integrity in the work they do. They keep their ceremonies to smaller, intimate groups to ensure everyone gets the attention and care they deserve."
Anonymous · Huachuma Community Weekend
"The Huachumero Chase is one of the kindest, most humble and most competent teachers I have worked with. It was easy to feel safe and to trust the people and the medicine. This place is magic and I love that it's smaller than other centers as it feels more intimate and allows the individual to have space for themselves."
Vanessa · Cayman Islands
"This Huachuma immersion was truly a life-changing experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of safety and care. They created a space where I felt genuinely seen, understood, and supported throughout the entire journey. Every detail felt intentional. It was worth every penny and so much more."
Alessandra · January 2026
"Chase himself taught themes of self-empowerment and provided safe spaces to work through inner turmoil. The methods used were very intentional, and everything was guided and supervised. Kimberly and Jason worked very hard to ensure all the needs of the guests were met, and that continued care and support were being offered."
Lizzi Zieba · Verified Guest
"Kim and Jason are compassionate, caring, and clearly committed to creating a safe, grounded space to work with plant medicines. The container they have built is intentional and trauma-informed. Safety, consent, and care are not just words here, they are felt throughout the experience."

Chase Moore

Medicine Carrier · Huachumero

A Tennessee native trained by master teacher Bernhard Karshagen in the indigenous San Pedro tradition, Chase has worked exclusively with San Pedro for over 10 years, completing extensive traditional diets. He holds a prayer that each person who comes to this work is empowered to step into the most authentic version of themselves.

Chase holds space in a way attuned to each person's path. Unlike containers where guests navigate the inner terrain alone, his presence weaves in and out of your experience with gentle, compassionate attunement. He is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with over a decade of teaching.

Kimberly Ocaña

Trained in trauma-informed care, she is also a certified sound healing therapist and herbalist. Her mentors include Atira Tan, Kat Courtney, Daniela Riojas, and Erika Buenaflor. She continues to apprentice in Ayahuasca shamanism with the Shipibo-Konibo tradition.

Understanding Huachuma

Your questions, answered.

What actually happens during ceremony?
Each ceremony opens in the morning with somatic grounding, not at sunrise. Once the medicine is received, the ceremony is held in sacred silence, and Chase moves through the space working 1:1 with each guest individually throughout the day. This level of individual presence within a group setting is what allows the depth of transformation guests describe. Ceremony closes around sunset, followed by a nourishing meal together.
What makes this container different from other San Pedro immersions?
Most group plant medicine containers hold the space collectively, with facilitation available if something arises. Here, Chase works 1:1 with each guest throughout the ceremony, in sacred silence. Eight guests maximum means that level of individual attention is genuinely possible. Add three ceremonies rather than one, somatic trauma-informed facilitation throughout, and three months of post-immersion integration, and you have a container designed not just for an experience but for lasting transformation.
How is San Pedro different from Ayahuasca?
San Pedro is taken during the day and works over 8 to 12 hours. Where Ayahuasca tends to be visionary, intense, and inward-pulling, San Pedro is primarily empathogenic and heart-opening. It brings a felt sense of expanded presence, clarity, and unity with the world around you rather than a deep interior journey. It also carries fewer pharmaceutical contraindications than Ayahuasca, making it accessible to people on certain medications. Gentle in nature does not mean light in impact.
I am on medication. Can I still work with San Pedro?
San Pedro does not carry the same dietary and pharmaceutical restrictions as Ayahuasca. People on SSRIs, SNRIs, or anti-anxiety medications can often work with San Pedro safely. That said, we assess this on a case-by-case basis. Your health history and current medications are reviewed during the intake process, and we will tell you directly if we have any concerns. The Sacred Journey consultation is the right place to start this conversation.
