Join us for an intimate wellness experience with Shipibo master healer Orfelinda Sanancino Cauper from Pullcalpa, Peru. Orfelinda and our trauma-informed team will lead an all-inclusive 8 day/7 night experience with the Peruvian medicine of Ayahuasca.
Focused on safety, intimacy, and the knowledge of somatic trauma wellness, Ananda introduces you to the new paradigm of plant medicine care.
In a culture that is fast-paced, high intensity, and focused on outcomes, disconnection from self is becoming rampant. At Ananda Lodge we believe in the power of the sacred pause and reconnecting with nature, and self, as potent medicines lost in much of today’s society.
At Ananda Lodge your safety and care is our utmost priority. With a 2:1 ratio of healers and facilitators to guests, we believe that each person deserves to be seen, acknowledged, and to receive the highest level of care. Limiting our retreat to only 8 participants not only allows for the highest level of trauma-informed care, but also for our master healers to spend time getting to know you and supporting your work.
Each member of the Ananda Lodge CARE team is trained in somatic, trauma-informed plant medicine facilitation, ensuring your ability to go deep with the medicine in a safe environment. Our philosophy is that of a comprehensive approach in which we empower our guests before, during, and after the retreat with tools and resources that reunite them to their inner wellness intelligence.
At Ananda our sanctuary is purposefully designed to provide guests with the ideal setting to embark on deep, soul-level healing journeys.
With thoughtful intention to every detail, we aim to create a nurturing space to safely go deep with the medicine. Our trauma-informed process focuses on education, tools, and resources that empower you to access the inner intelligence of the body combined with the wellness benefits of the medicine. At Ananda we believe in your sovereignty and being an ally throughout your wellness journey.
Choosing the right retreat center is an important step in the wellness process that should not be overlooked. At Ananda Lodge we work with some of the most respected and powerful healers (Onanyas) from the Shipibo tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. The medicine we work with is of the highest quality and is never mixed with anything other than the vine, Banisteriopsis caapi, and chacruna leaves, Psychotria viridis.
Nowadays ayahuasca ceremonies can vary greatly, and are becoming much more readily available in countries outside of South America. However, more and more unsafe practices are taking place. At Ananda Lodge we aim to be a bridge, where not only sacred medicine practices are honored and upheld, but the indigenous healers we work with are cared for, uplifted, and supported through Ayni, or sacred reciprocity efforts.
Oni, in Shipibo, is the name for the Ayahuasca brew. At Ananda Lodge Retreats, we operate with the highest level of integrity when serving medicine. Ayahuasca medicine that is brewed for our retreats is done with sacred reverence and prayer to provide deep wellness for those who consume it.
Following many years of intense diets in the jungle, Shipibo healers are known to be some of the most highly skilled energetic surgeons. Through the singing of their icaros, or sacred wellness songs, the curendera(o) channels their connection with the medicine and plant and animal spirits to heal traumatic imprints and energetic blockages. Through their singing, they guide the medicine to extract illness, repair the spirit, and harmonize the energy body.
While ayahuasca by itself can be considered deeply wellness, it is the skill and level of mastery of the curandera(o) that profoundly impacts the depth of wellness.
The Shipibo-Conibo are indigenous people who originate from the Peruvian Amazon. Formerly two groups, Shipibo and Conibo, they eventually merged to become one tribe known as some of the most powerful healers in the world. They are the third-largest indigenous group in the Peruvian Amazon, comprising 36,000 people across more than 150 communities.
The Shipibo Tribe is deeply rooted in their spiritual beliefs of wellness with plants and their reverence for plant and animal spirits. and gain their wellness powers and wisdom directly from the plants. Evident through their icaros, or wellness songs, and traditional textiles, or kenes, the Shipibo believe in the concept of an all-encompassing reality of oneness. The kene plays a crucial role in bringing these concepts into tangible, physical form often evident in the visuals experienced by the pasajeros.
Through their work with energy, they can cure a wide range of ailments, from physical to psycho-spiritual. The Shipibo follow a very specific progression of wellness work with pasajeros that ensures the utmost safety, protection, and deepest access to removing trauma burdens and emotional imprints.

Our process emphasizes intimacy, preparation through education and somatic resourcing, onsite individual and group processing, and post retreat integration for a wholistic and comprehensive approach to your care.
We view compassion as the cornerstone of wellness. Compassion for self and others allows us to see beyond separateness and to forgive ourselves and fellow human beings
We acknowledge that trauma-imprints are universal, with us each carrying wounds, visible or invisible. We acknowledge the power of being witnessed and the wellness capacity available to us all.
With reverence, we bow to Mother Earth and to the plants that provide wellness. In reverence, we bow to ourselves for the innate healers that we are, and to the Divine for the guidance on our journey.
We believe somatic embodiment creates a roadmap for lasting integration and wellness. When we walk the path with wisdom, we are able to heal for the generations before, and those after us.

A sacred medicine retreat is an immersive experience that incorporates the ceremonial use of sacred plants or substances for wellness, spiritual exploration, and personal growth.
This retreat was created specifically for beginners. However, it’s essential to consider your own readiness and intentions for participating in a sacred medicine retreat.
Safety is a top priority during ceremonies, and experienced facilitators take precautions to ensure the well-being of all participants. This includes screening participants for medical conditions or contraindications, providing pre- and post-ceremony support, maintaining a safe and sacred space and having trained staff on hand to assist.
Certain medical conditions, medications, or mental health conditions may be contraindicated with the use of sacred medicines. It’s essential to disclose all relevant medical history or medications to the retreat facilitators before participating.
Ceremonies involve ingesting the sacred medicine in a ritualistic setting under the guidance of experienced facilitators. Participants may experience a wide range of physical, emotional, and spiritual effects, including heightened sensory perception, introspection, emotional release, and spiritual insights.
Determining the correct mushroom dosage for a sacred ceremony is a nuanced process that requires careful consideration of various factors. We take an individualized approach, considering factors such as body weight, tolerance, previous experiences with psychedelics, and personal intentions for the ceremony. Our experienced facilitators have undergone extensive training and have years of experience working with sacred medicines.
We embrace the synergy of sacred plants and substances to create transformative and integrative experiences for our participants. Cacao has been used for centuries in ceremonial contexts for its heart-opening and mood-enhancing properties. When combined with sacred mushrooms, cacao can enhance and complement the psycho-spiritual effects of the mushrooms, creating a synergistic and expansive experience. The heart-opening properties of cacao can help to soften the edges of the mushroom experience, fostering a sense of safety, love, and trust that allows participants to surrender more deeply into the journey.
By offering ceremonies at different times of the day, we provide participants with the opportunity to experience the medicine in varying contexts and energetic frequencies. Evening ceremonies provide an opportunity for deep processing and integration as you sleep during the night. Morning ceremonies provide an opportunity to take advantage of optimal, natural brainwave patterns and chemicals, while offering conscious integration of the journey. The spacing of evening and morning ceremonies also allows participants time for rest and reflection between experiences.
